True Strength Ability Awareness is set to host a Topgolf fundraiser, called Golfing for Awareness with Jordan Hicks. The new event will raise funds for local middle and high school special education departments. The fundraiser will take place on Sunday, May 18, at Topgolf West Chester.
Cleveland Browns linebacker Jordan Hicks, a Lakota West High School alum, started True Strength Ability Awareness in February 2024 to champion young people with special needs and foster strong, inclusive communities.
During his time at Lakota West, Hicks was named an All-American selection and won the Dick Butkus Award in 2009. Hicks went on to play for the Texas Longhorns and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015. During his NFL career, Hicks has played for the Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and most recently, the Cleveland Browns.
To date, Hicks’ foundation has partnered with dozens of schools in Ohio and Kentucky to host inclusive spirit events, called True Strength Nights.
At a True Strength Night, students with special needs are honored throughout the event by being included in the school’s sports team’s introductions, warm-up and halftime activities. During and leading up to a True Strength Night, funds are raised for True Strength Ability Awareness. After the event, the foundation then donates a portion back to the host school’s special education department.
Hicks hopes to raise more funds for his community through the upcoming Topgolf event.
“We are thrilled to golf for awareness on May 18,” said Hicks. “It’s going to be a fun day at Topgolf West Chester for a cause that directly impacts kids, teachers and families in my hometown.”

The event will kick off at 1 PM and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy Topgolf’s interactive games, meet and take photos with Hicks, participate in a silent auction filled with signed sports memorabilia and indulge in a variety of food and beverage options.
